Stampin' Up!'s Framelits Video Tutorial

With the release of Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini came some exciting new products.  One in particular are the new framelits dies.  These dies offer so much versatility and coordination that the possibilities seem endless.  Now if you have looked through the mini and were wondering about these framelits but were unsure of how they work, I have the perfect video for you.  Take a look at Stampin' Up!'s video about this new product.

Photo Focus Layout

There are times when I am creating pages and I want lots of embellishment to highlight my photos, and there are times when I want the photos to completely take over the page.  This layout shows one of those instances.  I had some pictures of my daughter with a deer that basically became a pet of ours when she was little, and because the pictures are so unique I wanted them to  be the complete focus of this page.

One Page Fall Scrapbook Layout

Having a little time to myself today, I was able to squeeze in some catch up time with a good friend today.  We were supposed to have a scrapbooking day over our Christmas break, but unfortunately her appendix had other plans and she ended up having to stay in the hospital for a couple of days.  So since we had today off work, we scheduled us a scrap day.  She was able to get a lot more pages finished than me today, but at least I was able to come up with a couple of single page layouts to share with you.  I am also working on pages for our next scrappin' meeting in less than two weeks.  No pressure :)

Stamps: Gently Falling (I love this set. I have used it so much this year.)
Ink:  More Mustard, Early Espresso, Riding Hood Red

When I was cutting my fall letters, I didn't want to use very vanilla or whisper white because of the blending into the backing of the favorites piece.  I also didn't want to just cut them out of more mustard, just to plain for me.  So I decided to cut the letters in very vanilla and then I took the inside stamps for the gently falling set and stamped over the letters in more mustard giving me a textured look.  I just love how it came out.  Also I decided to use small strips as a journaling effect instead of a typical journaling block.  It just helps keep the eye flowing on the page.

January Scrappin' Meeting

It is time again for our next scrappin' meeting.  This time we are going to put together a two page snow layout, and use some Bigshot dies that we haven't used yet to give us some fun shapes on our pages and pictures.  We also are going to begin our card stockpile for the year.  We have to get our cards built up to send out all throughout the year.  So take a look at what we will be making, and get those pictures ready for next Friday, January 13th.
