2011 Ocassions Mini Last Chance

As you can tell, I have been absent from the blog last week.  It was a crazy week with lots of major projects going on that required some time off.  No to worry we are back now, and on to more crafting.  As the month is winding down I wanted to remind everyone of the great Occasions Mini that is leaving us soon.

If there is anything that you would like to get out of the 2011 Occasions Mini, you have until April 30th to get an order to me.  Just click on the link above to look through the catalog once more and make sure you don't leave behind something that you have been eyeing in there.  Call or email and let me know before the last day.  Thanks for stopping by.

Our Stampin Group

Yesterday was our monthly make and take meeting.  We have such a fun time together that I just had to share some pictures of our stampin excitement.

We all had a great time working on the Easter and Mother's Day pages.  We will back at it again soon.  If you would like to join in on all of the fun, send me an email.

Certificates Everywhere

Every parent of a child in elementary school knows what I mean when I ask the question, "What do we do with all of these certificates?".  The kids receive so many certificates throughout each school year early on.  I keep all of them in a file folder but I also wanted to incorporate them in their scrapbook, because I am very proud of them for earning them.  The problem is that they are so big, they would take up the entire scrapbook page.  So I was so excited when I stumbled upon my solution.  I have a Kodak picture printer that I use to print all of my prints at home.  My first ideas was to make a copy of the certificates on a 4x6 picture.  Well by accident when I was setting the printer I accidentally put 2 per page  instead of 1.  What came out tickled me pink.  It was the perfect sized certificate that allowed me to embellish my scrapbook pages with certificate "stickers".  Now I can display all of their certificates!!

Mommy Loves You

It is no secret that I am catching up on my scrapbooking.  Here is a page that I created with a border and tag that I had received in a border swap at a make and take with my upline.  I love how the border uses the tiled look to display "Mommy Loves".  It was a great layout for me to use some pictures I had of me and my son when he was younger just goofing around with the camera.

In the Blink of an Eye

It is amazing how fast kids grow up, and I love to remember all of the little things they experience in life.  These two pages are completely dedicated to my son's love of blowing bubbles.  He could sit for hours and just blow bubbles.  I love how they appreciate the little things in life.

Easter Card

I have to admit that I love dry embossing with the big shot, and by far my favorite embossing folder has to be the Tulip Frame Folder.  My Easter cards for this year features this embossing folder.  I used the pearl accents and the white gel pen to pop the card just a touch.  Can you tell where I colored the buds on the tree white with the pen to define them.  Also I did not like the crisp whiteness of the main layer, so I took my pastel chalks and lightly swirled bashful blue over the white.  It almost gives it a sky background without being overpowering.

Stamps:  Easter Blossoms
Paper:  Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Whisper White
Inks:  Basic Black, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue
Accessories:  Pearl Accents, White Signo Gel Pen, Bashful Blue Marker, Tulip Frame Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Stampin' Up! Pastels Chalk

Updated version of Fireman Card

A few weeks back I posted a Thank You Firefighter card that I had created for a challenge.  Well I was approached by my husband's aunt to create a Patriotic red, white, and blue firefighter card that she wanted to use as a place card for a ladies social she is hosting a table that is a fireman theme.  A new challenge; I love it.  She wanted to be able to place a giftcard on the inside and write the person's name on the front.  Here is what I came up with.

Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy did the colors of the American flag perfectly.  I left the oval open on the front for the names to be written on, and made a pocket on the inside for the gift card to be placed in.  I just could not resist the quote by Churchill in the Ocassional Quotes set.  She was just tickled pink when she saw these cards.

Friends Scrapook Layout

I am very lucky to have a sister that I am very close to, and our kids are very close.  My daughter and nephew are 2 years apart and love spending time together.  Here is a page I laid out of them having a great time here on the farm.

To this day they are still the best of friends.

Two Page Birthday Layout

I am still playing catch up on my scrapbooking.  You see I did not really get into scrapbooking until about 3 years ago, when my daughter was 11 and my son was 3.  So, yeah, I am playing catch up, and I do believe that I take pictures exponentially faster than I can get them scrapped.  Does anyone else have this problem :) ?  Anyway, here is the page layout that I did for my daughter's 13th birthday.

She is growing up so fast.  I tried to tell her to slow down so I could catch up on her scrapbook.  Well she didn't listen; instead she just turned 14.  What will I do??

Love Sparkles Post It Holder

I don't know if you have looked recently, but Stampin' Up has updated their clearance rack with some great new deals.  One of the items on clearance now is the Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I bought this kit last year and have scrapped almost all that I could out of it.  I though that I would show you what I made with the scraps that I had left from scrapbooking.

I made a cute little post-it note holder.  This will make a cute little teacher's gift for someone.  So go check out the clearance rack and see what you can come up with.

Pocket Friends Card

One of the first stamp sets that I purchased was Pocket Friends.  I loved this cute little set, and I could not resist making this little card using it.  It's a pocket, come on you have to make an article of clothing.  It is just too darn cute!!
Don't you just love the little jumper design!!

April's Make-And-Take

Are you ready girls??  We are two weeks away from our next meeting, and you have been patiently waiting to see what we will be creating.  Well, here it is. I will be demonstrating progressive scrapbook pages.  They allow us versatility with the size page we want to scrapbook.  I am including picture sizes for the mats so that you can bring along the pictures to mount if you would like.  This gives you two weeks to pull out those pictures and see which ones you would like to display.

The first set will focus on getting us ready for Easter.
We will be learning how to do dry embossing using the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder with the Big Shot.  Our card will feature the Easter Blossoms stamp set with the colors Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Basic Black, and Basic Gray.

Our Easter page will also feature the Easter Blossom stamp set with the colors, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron.  The mats on this layout will need pictures of sizes (4 x 3 1/2), (3 3/8 x 3 1/4), and two (2 1/4 x 3 1/2).

Our second set will focus on Mother's Day.

Here again, we will use the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder with the Big Shot.  (I just love this frame!!) with the Bliss and Something to Celebrate stamp set.  The colors we will use are Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso.  Don't you just love pink and brown together.

On our "Mom" themed scrapbook page, we will feature the Deligh in Life and Sweet Monogram stamp sets with the colors Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso, and Riding Hood Red.  Our mats on this page will hold pictures of sizes (4 x 3 1/2), and two (2 3/4 x 2 3/8).

Wow! We are going to have so much fun, and I have a secret 3D treat for everyone!  I can't wait to see everyone April 17th.  It is also not to late to join us.  If you are in the area and would like to join us, please let me know.

Wild About You

It is crazy how Stampin' Up! knows exactly what stamp sets I need.  The wild about you set goes great on my two page layout from our visit to Pine Mountain Wild Animal Park.

The first page features the Simply Circles stamp set.  It is stamped in versa mark then on the page to give the page a watermark effect.  On the second page, I just had to use that little alligator stamp, from the Wild About You set, with my alligator picture of the kids.  Perfect stamp sets to use to preserve perfect memories.
